1. Prune Juice
If you have apple and pear trees in your garden, then now is the time to prune away - give light and allow the tree to breath.
2. Vine Time
If you are lucky to have a few grape vines dans le jardin, now is the time to prune, to avoid 'bleeding'. Bleeding is not pretty, trust us.
3. Check Your Stash
Did you save some of dem apples last month? Now is the time to check for any that have gone bad - they'll turn the rest so get rid of them.
4. A Bad Apple
It's been a bumper crop for apples this year - but you need to think (hope) for next - so any apples still on the tree... get rid of them.

1. It's A Wrap
As the frost sets in on a nightly basis, make sure to wrap up your pots all safe and sound with bubble-wrap and put in your greenhouse.
2. Scrub Up
Now's the time to get in the greenhouse and do a pre-spring clean - thoroughly wash pots, equipment to rid of any germs.
3. Seed heads
If you have not harvested seeds by now, don't bother. Wildlife need something to get them through the chill and they'll thank you for it.
4. Hard Times
Now is the time to take hardwood cuttings from some of your more robust herbs - rosemary and bay are perfect.

1. Harvest Time
Winter crops love the frost and they taste so much better for it - parsnips, brussels, kale, leeks and winter cabbages are coming into their own.

If you have any brassicas still on your plot, now if the time to net them off - in the bleak mid winter, pigeons love 'em..
3. Got It Covered
If you have sown any autumnal seeds (broad beans, for example) then make sure to get some fleece into them so they are all snug for Winter.

Not so much just for vegetables, all those leaves falling from the trees are next years leaf mould - do it now and you won't regret it.
