Our Kitchen Garden...
Here at Marsala Rama we are big fans of Grow Your Own - there really is nothing better than deciding what you fancy for dinner, going into your garden and picking the fruit and vegetables you need for your meal - so, so satisfying.
We are lucky in that we have a big garden - it used to be a large, formal lawn but slowly it is being eaten up by our ambition to be sufficient in veg - the addition of nine new raised beds (see picture) helps us almost get there.
Lee is the green fingered one, steered by Angela who is the master chef of the house - we are not particularly knowledgeable - it is more 'stick it in the ground, see what happens', as well as a big advocate of only growing what we love to eat (which is everything) - but as time goes on, we read more and learn more about what works, and what doesn't.
Like all good gardeners say, you should document what you do and when - so that you learn for next season. Like most gardeners though, we forget.
So within each what to grow now section, we'll add all the jobs we have actually donw so far in the month, as well as what we will be sowing, planting and harvesting.
Hopefully it will inspire you to plant some pots, or dig up some lawn, or plant a border specially for a bit of GYO - the good life is closer than you think.
