That Was The Food Week That Was!
TV Dinner, Anyone?
November 27, 2013
Far be it from me to besmirch one of my own, but as you read recipes on Marsala Rama you'll begin to realise that as a cook, I am pretty average at cooking - I know what I know.
Angelina on the other hand is pretty damn good and is getting better and better with every dish that comes out the kitchen.
Then you have Fi Fi.
We think that our different levels of expertise is perfect for our little food blog and recipe site, as it means that there is something for everyone. Let's just say that our very own Fi Fi is not the most gifted cook in the cookery school. The willing is there but the application lacks somewhat. I therefore thought that to demonstrate just what level of expertise we all have, I would share the above pic.
It takes the phrase 'TV Dinner' to another level.
You see, our dearest Fi Fi started a new job recently and as you do, being the new kid in school, you try to ingratiate yourself somewhat into the culture of the company. You may make a few more coffees and teas than you'd like. You may offer to do a lunch run to the local cafe. That sort of thing.
Or in Fi Fi's case, offer to make rounds of toast and in the process, melt down an expensive TV remote control; subsequently almost torching the place in the processs - all on your first day.
In her defence, some half-wit decided to plonk the remote into the multi-facetted toasting machine before she got there - and to be fair, I've never heard anyone yet check the other slots of a toaster 'just in case a remote for the Samsung UHD-4K' is hiding in there.
So three minutes later the results came in - one expensive, squidgy hoofer-doofer; one cracking piece of toast (ready for the homemade marmalade); and one very embarrassed Fi Fi.
