Marsala Rama Founder To Demo At Foodies Festival

We are thrilled and delighted at Marsala Rama HQ to announce that our very own Angela Langford will be demoing at the forthcoming Foodies Festival at The Harbourside, Bristol on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th July.
The three day event is full of foodie treats including street food, local hero producers, as well as cookery classes.

Foodies Festival, the UK’s largest celebration of food & drink returns to Bristol Harbourside, 11th, 12th and 13th July for a three day celebration of the UK's finest produce, street food and culinary masters.
This year the MasterChef Street Food Bus parks up at the Foodies Festival. Festival goers can hop aboard and feast on tasty treats on the top deck, such as smoky chicken burgers served with salad & yuzu chilli sauce or the signature Singapore Softie (an irresistible combo of deep-fried soft shell crab with aubergine, green bean & cauliflower on egg noodles with spicy chilli crab bacon, American cheese, pickled veggie ribbons & gochujang burger sauce & salad, all served in a crusty roll), all cooked in the purpose built kitchen downstairs by MasterChef winner Matt Follas and finalist Jackie Kearney.
Top chefs cooking for the crowds include 2014 MasterChef winner Ping Coombes, judge of BBC’s Great British Menu Glynn Purnell and MasterChef finalists Angela Langford, Larkin Cen and Andrew Kojima, as well as Romy Gill from Romy’s Kitchen, Telegraph food writer Xanthe Clay, Louise McCrimmon of Harvey Nichols’ 2nd Floor Restaurant and Richard Davies from the Manor House Hotel, all of whom will cook their signature dishes live in the Chefs’ Theatre while explaining how home cooks can recreate the same dishes at home for friends and family.
Exciting new features for 2014 include a spectacular Chocolate, Bake and Preserves Theatre which will host top pastry chefs, chocolatiers, bakers, sugarcraft experts and jam and preserve makers. Audience members will be invited to roll up their sleeves and lend a helping hand on stage.This is complemented by the new Chocolate, Baking and Preserves Village which will delight those with a sweet tooth who can sample and take away products from chocolate and confectionary makers, bakers and cake makers. The Village is a haven for those who enjoy home baking, with a selection of stalls selling baking essentials and the latest gadgets.
A brand new outdoor BBQ Arena will appeal to lovers of al fresco dining featuring a purpose built BBQ stage with hourly BBQ demonstrations. Spectators will be invited to take part in BBQ challenges; meat-eating competitions and will even learn how to make a ‘BBQ cake’!
A new Chilli Food Market will excite those with a love for spicy foods with a range of chilli growers and artisan producers of sauces, sweets and jams. For those who can handle the heat a Chilli Eating Challenge takes place at 5pm daily. Support from the crowd helps contestants attempt to beat the current record of 13 varieties of chillies eaten in one sitting.
Bringing it all together is the new Feasting Tent at the heart of the festival. This becomes the social hub, where visitors will enjoy their culinary finds with chefs, friends and family at long banqueting tables.
The Drinks Theatre offers masterclasses and demonstrations given by some of the most talented sommeliers, mixologists and drink experts in the country. Guests can learn about wine, champagne, sherry, ales and cocktails with experts including TV’s Charles Metcalfe, beer expert Melissa Cole, champagne expert Neil Phillips and local wine expert Suzy Atkins.
The extensive Producers’ Market is the place to discover local artisan produce and incorporates the Guild of Fine Food award-winning British produce. With over 100 exhibitors, visitors will be spoilt for choice!
Foodies Festivals are recognised for their focus on street food. This year visitors can enjoy a huge selection of award winning hot and cold food from around the world including hog roasts, Vietnamese buns, exotic meats, tapas, churros, burritos, Moroccan tagines, South American prime beef, Jamaican and Thai street food.
There is plenty for little foodies to do with the Children’s Cookery Theatre hosting “Around the World” themed cookery classes. These workshops will help children find their taste buds and teach them basic cooking skills.
The entertainment stage features live music acts performing every day until the later closing time this year of 8pm.
